Laugh So Hard Your Guts Hurt
October 2006
Boring day? These hilarious memories will put a smile on your face and take you back to your days as an undergrad. Relive your wild days and share your memories with us at here.
What is the memory that makes you laugh hardest today?
“Jim Mozely cutting his foot in the party room, and half the fraternity heading for the infirmary with him. I'm in John Howton's convertible when he decides to go down 10th Street the wrong way. When he finally realizes he's going the wrong way, he takes a hard left turn off 10th Street and I go straight out of the car and "hit the road."” - Neil Anderson, ’72
As a pledge class, trying to abscond with John Weaver (a very large varsity football player) when he got pinned to his sweetheart. It was not at all clear who got the worst of that deal. Equally funny was freezing down the back deck on a cold winter's night and playing broom hockey in tennis shoes. On one play I remember someone taking out about ten feet of the brick wall next to the alley. -Wayne Luke, ‘72
Describe the best party
“Hawaiian Party 1970.” - Neil Anderson, ’72
Although the Hawaiian parties were all epic, I remember 'Kalabash' playing both before and after the Notre Dame football game where the fish came flying down on the Irish bench from the upper deck when they started running up the score. -Wayne Luke, ‘72
Describe your favorite/best road trip
“Going to Mardi Gras.” - Neil Anderson, ’72
House party to Panama City in Spring, 1971. Our large Styrofoam cooler which was full of Yucca Flats went everywhere we went...even on the charter fishing boat. -Wayne Luke, ‘72
What is the one memory you have shared or will share with your children or grandchildren?
“Hawaiian Party; being laked when I was pinned to their mom.” - Neil Anderson, ’72
Not being able to solve the continuing, mysterious disappearance of food from the downstairs kitchen, even after installing locks, etc. Then, late one night coming downstairs to get some coffee and seeing a couple of guys literally stuffing Jim Daniels in the tiny dumb waiter and lowering him down into the kitchen for some late night grazing supplies. I still laugh about it to this very day. -Wayne Luke, ‘72
